Cheap Ways to Declutter and Organize your Craft Corner

Crafting can be addicting. One minute you are doing a project with just some paper and a pair of scissors and the next, you have bought all the latest designs, patterns, books and gadgets. But buying all these stuff can clutter your house and with the prices of crafting stuff these days, it will be a big dent in your budget if you are to add cabinets and storage boxes into the list of your expenses.

But there are ways to organize your craft stuff without spending all that much. In fact, with a little bit of creativity and imagination, you can use what you already have inside the house to organize your stuff. Here are some ideas that might help you.

1. Use an old luggage

Don't throw that old luggage that you have lying in the garage or in your closet just because it is missing a foot. You can use that luggage to keep all your crafting stuff. The pockets outside can serve as the storage for gadgets while the mesh inside can be a great ribbon organizer. Of course, you need bottles and plastic containers for other small items but at least with the large luggage, you will get to keep everything inside.

If you do not have that much stuff, why not put them inside an old bag that you no longer use? If you do not have a luggage, you can always use multiple bags. Just make sure that you organize them right so that items with similar functions can be found in one bag.

2. Reuse zip lock sandwich bags and plastic containers

Yes, they smell like food but you can wash them with water and soap and dry them out. That ought to get rid of the smell. Using these plastic containers to organize the small materials that you use for crafting like glitters and accents is not only a boon to your pockets, it declutters the house and helps the environment. You can then place these containers inside a box or a bag. Another idea is to use tin cans and biscuit containers. There are a lot of things that you can use around the house.

3. Use plates when working

To help you in cleaning after, why not use plates or small bowls where you can pour each type of sequins or beads and other small accents into. Doing this will make it easier for you to pour them back to their containers after a project.
